The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
