The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
