Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
