Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high of this divine writ issues from God, the Almighty, the Wise. 2 Behold, in the heavens as well as on earth there are indeed messages for all who [are willing to] believe. 3 And in your creation, and all the creatures He scatters in the earth – in them are signs for the people who are certain. 4 As there are signs in the alternation of night and day, and in rain that God sends with which He revives the earth once dead, as there are in the changing of the winds, for people who can understand. 5 These are revelations of God which we recite to you correctly: In what other lore but God and His manifestations would they then believe? 6 Woe to all the guilty impostors! 7 Who hears the verses of Allah which are recited to him, then remains stubborn, proud, as if he did not hear them; therefore give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 8 When he comes to know something of Our messages he makes fun of them: For them is shameful punishment. 9 Hell is ahead of them; and all that they may have gained [in this world] shall be of no avail whatever to them, and neither shall any of those things which, instead of God, they have come to regard as their protectors: for, awesome suffering awaits them. 10 This Book is guidance, and those who disbelieve in the revelations of their Lord, theirs shall be torment of calamity, afflictive. 11
