The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
