The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Stretch not thine eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy; and do not sorrow for them, and lower thy wing unto the believers, 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 As to what they did. 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
