The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And couches raised up. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For those on the right. 38
