And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 Do not betray me 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
