The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
