And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
