You will never come to piety unless you spend of things you love; and whatever you spend is known to God. 92 ۞ ALL FOOD was lawful unto the children of Israel, save what Israel had made unlawful unto itself [by its sinning] before the Torah was bestowed from on high. Say: "Come forward, then, with the Torah and recite it, if what you say is true!" 93 And anyone who fabricates lies about God even after this, is wicked indeed. 94 Say, "Allah has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists." 95 The first House of God to be set up for men was at Bakkah the blessed, a guidance for the people of the world. 96 full of clear messages. [It is] the place whereon Abraham once stood; and whoever enters it finds inner peace. Hence, pilgrimage unto the Temple is a duty owed to God by all people who are able to undertake it. And as for those who deny the truth - verily, God does not stand in need of anything in all the worlds. 97 Say: "O people of the Book, why do you reject the word of God when God is a witness to all that you do?" 98 Say: O People of the Scripture! Why drive ye back believers from the way of Allah, seeking to make it crooked, when ye are witnesses (to Allah's guidance)? Allah is not unaware of what ye do. 99 O ye who believe! If ye obey a party of those who have received the Scripture they will make you disbelievers after your belief. 100 And how would ye deny Faith while unto you are rehearsed the Signs of Allah, and among you Lives the Messenger? Whoever holds firmly to Allah will be shown a way that is straight. 101
