Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
