Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
