The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 and the day in splendour 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
