The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 For all their deeds. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
