Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 His wealth did not benefit him in the least, nor did whatever he earned. 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 And his wife, the portress of fire wood, 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
