The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 that hide, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
