Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
