The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
