The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ O People who Believe! Do not advance ahead of Allah and His Noble Messenger, and fear Allah; indeed Allah is All Hearing, All Knowing. 1 Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak loudly to him as you do to one another lest your works should be annulled without your knowledge. 2 Indeed, those who lower their voices before the Messenger of Allah - they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness. For them is forgiveness and great reward. 3 Those who shout out to thee from without the inner apartments - most of them lack understanding. 4 If they were patient until you went out to them, that would have been better for them. Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. 5 O People who Believe! If any miscreant brings you some tidings, verify it, lest you unknowingly cause suffering to some people, and then remain repenting for what you did. 6 And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared to you the faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief, defiance and disobedience. Those are the [rightly] guided. 7 The munificence and favour of Allah; and Allah is All Knowing, Wise. 8 And if two parties of believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them. And if one party of them doeth wrong to the other, fight ye that which doeth wrong till it return unto the ordinance of Allah; then, if it return, make peace between them justly, and act equitably. Lo! Allah loveth the equitable. 9 The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy. 10
