And remember when Ibrahim prayed, “O my Lord! Make this town (Mecca) a safe one, and safeguard me and my sons from worshipping idols.” 35 My Lord, indeed they have led astray many among the people. So whoever follows me - then he is of me; and whoever disobeys me - indeed, You are [yet] Forgiving and Merciful. 36 'Our Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley near Your Holy House; our Lord, in order that they establish the prayer. Make the hearts of people yearn towards them, and provide them with fruits, in order that they are thankful. 37 O Lord, You have knowledge of what we hide and what we reveal, for nothing on the earth or in the skies is hidden from God. 38 "Praise be to Allah, Who hath granted unto me in old age Isma'il and Isaac: for truly my Lord is He, the Hearer of Prayer! 39 My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication. 40 Our Lord! forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day whereon will be set up the reckoning. 41
