The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners. 23 So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress: 24 Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.” 25 [And God said:] "On the morrow they will come to know who the boastful liar is! 26 We are sending to them as a trial, a shecamel, so watch them and have patience. 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). 28 They called together their companions and agreed to slay the she-camel. 29 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning 34 as a blessing from Us: this is how We reward the thankful. 35 And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings. 36 They even solicited of him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes: 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 37 And at daybreak a determined punishment came upon them. 38 "Taste, then, the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded!" 39 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
