The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 By the angels hastening, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 you pay attention 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
