Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
