The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
