Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And chosen goblets. 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
