The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
