Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
