Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
