Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
