Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
