Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and couches raised high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions lined up 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
