The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 on lavish couches 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 and serried acacias, 29 And extended shade, 30 And water everflowing. 31 and fruits abounding 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 and made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
