S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Sad, and by the Qur'an full of exhortation! 1 Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. 2 How many did We destroy before them of the generations, then they cried while the time of escaping had passed away. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Maketh he the gods One Allah? Lo! that is an astounding thing. 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Or, are with them the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Bestower? 9 Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. 10 A very host of parties is routed there! 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 and [the tribe of] Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan]: they all were leagued together, [as it were, in their unbelief:] 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14
