The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta-Seen-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are the verses of the illustrious Book. 2 It may be that thou tormentest thyself (O Muhammad) because they believe not. 3 If We will, We shall send down on them out of heaven a sign, so their necks will stay humbled to it. 4 [But We have not willed it:] and so, whenever there comes unto them any fresh reminder from the Most Gracious, they [who are blind of heart] always - turn their backs upon it: 5 Surely they have done with denying; soon will come to them the news of what they were laughing at. 6 What, have they not regarded the earth, how many therein We have caused to grow of every generous kind? 7 Most surely there is a sign in that, but most of them will not believe. 8 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 9
