The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
