Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
