Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the racers, panting, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 And by oath of those who raid at dawn. 3 and raising clouds of dust, 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 Verily man is unto his Lord ungrateful. 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 and surely he loves riches with a passionate loving. 8 ۞ So does he not know? When those in the graves are raised, 9 And that which is in the breasts (of men) shall be made known. 10 Verily their Lord on that Day will be of them Aware. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
