Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
