Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
