A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 A DIVINE WRIT has been bestowed from on high upon thee - and let there be no doubt about this in thy heart - in order that thou mayest warn [the erring] thereby, and [thus] admonish the believers: 2 Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. 3 How many a village have We laid in ruin! In the night Our Might fell upon it, or at midday when they were drowsy. 4 and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, "We were indeed wrongdoers!" 5 (On the Day of Reckoning) We shall question the people to whom We had sent Our apostles, (if they followed their teachings), and will question the apostles. 6 We shall recount (their deeds) to them with knowledge, for We were never absent (and saw all they did). 7 The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper: 8 and those whose scales are light will be the losers, for they, are the ones who have been unjust to Our signs. 9 We have established you in the earth and there appointed for you livelihood; little thanks you show. 10

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
