But the leaders of his people who denied the truth and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, because We had granted them ease and plenty in their worldly life, said, "This is only a human being like yourselves, he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink, 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ Away! away with that wherewith ye are promised; 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then We raised up other generations after them, 42 No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it). 43 And We sent forth Our apostles, one after another: [and] every time their apostle came to a community, they gave him the lie: and so We caused them to follow one another [into the grave,] and let them become [mere] tales: and so - away with the folk who would not believe! 44 Thereafter We sent Musa and his brother Harun with Our signs and an authority manifest. 45 Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk. 46 and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?' 47 So they denied them – therefore became of those who were destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 And We made Mary's son, and his mother, a Sign, and We gave them refuge on a lofty ground, a peaceful site with springs flowing in it. 50
