The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
