Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
