Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 And We delivered them and their people from (their) Great Calamity; 115 We helped them, and they became victorious, 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 And We led the twain on unto the straight path. 118 And We kept their praise among the latter generations. 119 Peace be with Moses and Aaron. 120 That is how We reward those who do good. 121 They were among Our believing worshipers. 122 Verily Elias is one of the apostles. 123 When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 What! do you call upon Ba'l and forsake the best of the creators, 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of yore.” 126 But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up. 127 except the chosen servants of God. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 131 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 save an old woman among those that tarried; 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
