The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
