Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
