Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 Who know what you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
