The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
