The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
